IVF costs in Goa are broadly in line with Tier-1 cities — but without the travel, accommodation and time-off costs that come with treatment in Pune or Mumbai. At Dr. Purva Sahakari’s Hospital & IVF Centre in Ponda, per-cycle costs are in the range of ₹1.5–2 lakh, which covers the procedure and embryologist fees. Medications are billed separately, and a written cost estimate is provided at the fertility consultation before any treatment begins.
Yes — significantly. The key variables are the experience of the embryologist, the quality of the laboratory, and whether the clinic performs the full cycle in-house or outsources any part of it. At our centre, every IVF cycle is performed in our own advanced laboratory with a dedicated embryologist — no outsourcing, no third-party labs. Dr. Purva Sahakari holds an Advanced Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine from Kiel University, Germany, and personally oversees each case.
In standard IVF, eggs and sperm are placed together in a dish and fertilisation happens naturally. In ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), a single sperm is injected directly into the egg — this is recommended for male-factor infertility, low sperm count or motility, or previous failed fertilisation. The decision is made after both partners are assessed. Both procedures are available at our centre in Ponda, performed in our own laboratory.
Yes — and many do. The process is designed so that most of the early workup (blood tests, semen analysis, preliminary scans) can be done in your home city. You travel to Ponda only for the stages that require an in-person visit — typically stimulation monitoring, egg collection and embryo transfer. A WhatsApp video consultation with Dr. Purva Sahakari is the easiest first step for outstation and international patients.
The general guideline is: if you have been trying to conceive for 12 months without success (or 6 months if the woman is over 35), a fertility evaluation is worth doing. However, if there is a known condition — PCOS, endometriosis, irregular cycles, low sperm count, or a history of miscarriage — earlier evaluation is advisable. A fertility consultation at our centre covers both partners and ends with a clear assessment and a written treatment plan.
